How To Avoid Forced Upgrade to WLM 9.0

Okay microsoft has made it mandatory to upgrade your WLM version.. If you for some reason dont want to use it (I personally find WLM 9 dirt ugly) and want to keep 8.5, i have a guide for you how to avoid the mandatory upgrade.

There's two methods:
(Assuming you already have WLM 8.5 installed, if not you can get it here: Clickie, without that horrible "Windows Live Installer" thing)

First method:
Go to Program Files, Windows Live, Messenger, Find msnmsgr.exe, right click, compatibility, set it to Windows 2000, and it should let you start it without bugging you with upgrade notice.

This will work for both 8.1 and 8.5 i think, the second method is best but only for 8.5.

Second method:
I have made a little program that patches the msnmsgr.exe file so it appears to be the newest version. It fools the version check, it seems.

Download it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?q41omzjqzzj

Place it in
C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Messenger if you have 64-bit.

Then run it, after being sure that Messenger is closed, and click patch.

That should do the trick. BTW it's 100% virus free, i assure you, if you dont trust me, upload it to www.virustotal.com before running at let it do a check :) Some anti viruses might detect it because since it actually edits a exe, i find that quite obvious.

Regards.

For the love of god, I'll suck your dick if you make the patch for 8.1.0178.
;-;
This update shit is bullshit.
Don't force to update to a crappy version, force a fix.

Haha, certainly i'll do it.

Just upload your msnmsgr.exe from the directory to any host, preferably rapidshare, then i will mod it and return it to you.

My msn is patched, it's been patched with apatch and mess patch, along with stuffplug3.
Are you sure you can do it? Why not give me a tutorial?

Shouldnt be an issue.. The only thing that would be an issue would be that msg plus doesnt want to install afterwards.. you can always take backup you know
